Join the White Lake Historical Society and discover the joy of preserving local history! Whether you’re passionate about archiving, gardening, or hands-on projects, we have a place for you. Our dedicated members work tirelessly to maintain the Kelley-Fisk Farm, a cherished state historic site. The property is home to the original farmhouse that was built in 1855 and the Thompson One room schoolhouse which was built in 1876 and later moved to the property. One of the most iconic buildings on the property is the big red barn. Built by the Fisk family around 1900 using wood obtained from their property and surounding wooded area. Additional outbuilding built by the Fisk family include A hen house, pig barn, pump house and a corn crib. All which have been preserved by our members for future generations to enjoy.
The WLHS was founded in1987 by a small group of people that were passionate about preserving this beautiful property and you can join today and help continue the legacy. Come explore the many exciting committee and volunteer opportunities that await you! Some which include:
